Another site

Other sites can do whatever they want of course, but I think a recent experience is interesting. I have searched out and added to the blogroll some sites that are more lefty than I am. It took a while to find some that discuss issues more than they do Democratic party politics. You'll note I don't have links to any sites that spend most of their time on Republican party politics, either.

One of those sites is FloridaPolitix.com. A couple of days ago, that site had a post defending former Miami Herald writer Jim DeFede. DeFede was fired after secretly tape recording a conversation with a Miami city councilman who later in the day committed suicide. The original blog post promotes the savedefede.com web site and says that journalists are flocking to his support.

I posted a comment outlining my experience in journalism, outlining the Florida law, and saying that I thought DeFede deserved punishment - and that firing was not out of line.  I see that comment has been deleted.  The only comments there are those supporting the position of the original poster.

Most interesting.
