Troops Prepare For Battle
Friday, March 14, 2003   By: Juan Paxety

We don't usually think of this when we think of battle preparations.

Pfc. David Kurns is baptized by Task Force Chaplain Capt. Ron Cooper, left, and 1st Lt. Brian Case, right, in the desert north of Kuwait City, Wednesday, March 12. Eight members of the 3rd Infantry Division were baptized in the desert on Wednesday.

The above photo is a wire service photo. Many more photos showing our soldiers, airmen, sailors and Marines as they prepare for battle are here. There are many surprises - a sailor, born in Haiti, on watch aboard the USS Cowpens, the Coast Guard on patrol in the Persian Gulf, and sand, sand, sand.

If you're interested, I have posted some of my own photos of churches I've found interesting.
