Free Dr. Biscet
Monday, December 12, 2005   By: Juan Paxety

We've written many times of the plight of Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet, a political prisoner held in Cuba. Dr. Biscet is a follower of Ghandi, Dr. Martin Luther King and the Dalai Lama. fidel castro, a follower of his own evil imagination, has sentenced Dr. Biscet to 25 years in a Cuban jail. His crime? He held meetings to discuss the lack of human rights in Cuba.

Now a web page has been created to let the world know about the doctor's plight. Take a look at Free-Biscet.org. His health is deterioriating - he's being held in a small, windowless cell. Babalublog has video of Biscet's wife showing a replica of the cell - Fausta translates what his wife says in the video. Fausta describes the cell as a latrine-like dungeon.

Songuacassal at Cuban American Pundits has more and a link to a place you can write to help free Dr. Biscet.

Ziva has more at Blog for Cuba. CB's views are here.
