Chávez, fidel and Balboa
Monday, September 19, 2005   By: Juan Paxety

Planning since 1980?

Ain't this a hoot. Hugo Chávez has been the toast of New York with his accusation, backed up by fidel, that the U.S. has imminent plans to invade Venezuela. He appeared with Ted Koppel and other media hounds to make his claims. He says the name of the plan is Balboa

Turns out, Balboa was a 1980 - that's right, 1980 - plan to help defend Venezuela from Colombian narco-terrorists and from Cuba.

Fausta has the details at Bad Hair Blog.

But that's not the only news from Chávez over the weekend. If you haven't been keeping up, understand that Hugo turned over Venezuelan security to fidel. That's right, Cuban security agents now operate in Venezuela. So, when Hugo went to New York, he was allowed to bring his own security guards. They arrived under Venezuelan passports, and then gave everyone a surprise.

They were actually Cubans - and defected to the U.S.

What do you make of that, fidel apologists?

Of course, this has not made the MSM - you have to read about it at Babalublog.
