Gentlemen:

Two weeks ago at a conference in Davos, Switzerland, Eason Jordan, an executive with Cable News Network, told a meeting of 300-400 people that the U.S. military was targeting journalists for death and had succeeded in killing a dozen.  This is not the first time Mr. Jordan has made such claims.  In November, he told a group in Portugal that the U.S. military had tortured and killed journalists.

U.S. Representative Barney Frank was in attendance at the meeting in Davos and confirms the story to columnist Michelle Malkin.  U.S. Senator Christopher Dodd was also in attendance, but has not yet made a public comment.  Former White House Aide David Gergen moderated the meeting and, likewise, has not spoken publicly at this writing.

As my representatives in Congress, I am asking you to conduct hearings on this matter. If, indeed, Mr. Jordan is correct and the U.S. military is torturing and intentionally killing journalists, we should find and correct the horrible failure in leadership.  If Mr. Jordan is incorrect, a thorough investigation is needed to clear the military.

Sincerely,

Juan Paxety
