Bulldawgs take Saddam's palace.

Captain Chris Carter, a University of Georgia graduate, unfurled his UGA flag outside one of Saddam's palaces in Baghdad on Monday. Video of Carter was broadcast on the Fox News Channel.

The Athens Banner-Herald reports Carter's parents are quite proud:

''I thought that was just like Chris - an avid Bulldog fan,'' said his father, Michael Carter. ''...And great publicity for the 'Dogs.''
Carter's parents say the second man unfurling the flag is Col. David Perkins, also a UGA grad.
Carter, 31, graduated from Oconee High School before attending UGA. He commands A Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment.
Can he coach basketball?
A Paxety Pages Update - I would appear from this AP story that Capt. Carter was later involved in liberating Saddam's love shack.
